The Log House – This is a family restaurant with a large varied menu. It is a mainstay in New Hartford. 3.5 miles east. 860-379-8937.

Kent Pizza – This one has great pizza and pasta at great prices. 3 miles west in Winsted. 860-379-0775

Old Saybrook Fish House – This is famous for seafood and casual ambiance. 6 miles east in Canton. 860-693-0034

Attractions & Activities:

On the B&B Premises There’s: Kayaking, swimming and sunbathing. Hiking around the lake is good in all seasons.

Within An Easy Drive There’s: Many fantastic outdoor activities including hiking on nature trails, mountain climbing, skiing and bike touring. Many activities can be enjoyed on parts of the Appalachian Trail.

Antiquing. There are numerous antique shops and antique cooperatives.
Specialty shops are numerous including shops for art, crafts, furniture, pottery and much more.

Tubing on the Farmington River. You can rent regulation tubes and life jackets. After floating down the river for 1 ½ hours they pick you up and bring you back to the point of origin.
Concerts. The Litchfield Hills are alive with the sound of music.
Equity stage productions and summer stock.
Skiing. You will find both downhill and X-Country ski centers. Ski Sundown is 5 miles away.

Quaint New England Towns:

New Hartford has good restaurants, shops and is picture postcard New England. It is also home to Ski Sundown. (4.5 miles)
Collinsville is a great example of an old New England river powered factory town from the beginning of the American industrial revolution. It has shops, restaurants, a museum about the town and gorgeous views of the of the Farmington River. (10 miles)
Norfolk is home to the Yale summer school of music and it’s concerts. It also features the restored Green Wood Theatre. (15 miles)
Litchfield has a hand made furniture studio, art galleries, specialty shops, clothing shops, jazz festivals and many restaurants. (20 miles)
Riverton is noted for the Hitchcock furniture factory and outlet, as well as restaurants, shops and country fairs. (15 miles)
Bantam has the Bantam Cinema, the closest art film theater. Also antique shops. (23 miles)
Winsted has many restaurants, shops, a community college, Gilson Cinema Café (Movies and dinner). It is also the hometown of Ralph Nader. (2.4 miles)
