swimming and sunbathing. Hiking around the lake is good in all
seasons.

An Easy Drive There’s: Many fantastic outdoor activities
including hiking on nature trails, mountain climbing, skiing and
bike touring. Many activities can be enjoyed on parts of the Appalachian
Trail.

regulation tubes and life jackets. After floating down the river

ski centers. Ski Sundown is 5 miles away.

is a great example of an old New England river powered factory
town from the beginning of the American industrial revolution.

It also features the restored Green Wood Theatre. (15 miles)
Litchfield
has a hand made furniture studio, art galleries, specialty shops,
clothing shops, jazz festivals and many restaurants. (20 miles)
Riverton
is noted for the Hitchcock furniture factory and outlet, as well
as restaurants, shops and country fairs. (15 miles)
Bantam
has the Bantam Cinema, the closest art film theater. Also antique
shops. (23 miles)
Winsted
has many restaurants, shops, a community college, Gilson Cinema
Café (Movies and dinner). It is also the hometown of Ralph
Nader. (2.4 miles)
